I struggle to keep myself firmly implanted in the future. Spring 2022 is where my head should be. Soon, we need to submit covers, and BISAC codes, and comp titles for books we will be publishing fifteen months from now to our distributor and I am, as I always am, way behind.
I’m behind on the closer future, too. Later this week we are pitching our Fall 2021 titles to sales reps, and we are still rushing to fill out those fields (Promo: to see our forthcoming titles ready for preorder, click here.)
But even trying to focus on my work-present, which is everyone’s future —breathe in, breathe out—I am falling behind. Because if I don’t sign some new contracts soon, we won’t have enough books ready for Fall 2022. People need time to write books!
