I have been forcing myself not to write you all a newsletter for weeks! It’s been hard! It turns out I enjoy sending these weekly missives so much it hurts to skip a week or two. I told myself I was not allowed to write to you because I have been working on the manuscript for the book based on these newsletters. I have now drafted and revised and revised once more that manuscript, which means it is probably about 3/4 of the way ready to send off to my editor (aka colleague) to read, and maybe 2/3 of the way done. Which is a good feeling, though it is accompanied by intense anxiety as to what it is missing, what it could be if I would only work harder and better and longer. I am currently in that phase of book writing which is 1/2 “whee almost there!” and 1/2 “shit I could have done a much better job should I double-down, extend the deadline, make this twice as good as it is now?” This is par for the book-writing course, for me, and the answer is as yet unknown, at least to me, but on…
